Modifying the TLMC requires access to a specific aircraft TLMC files. This is often chapter 5 of the maintenance manual.
The following fields are available in the table:
RI - Record Indicator
ITEM - Description of TLMC
ATA - ATA Code
I - Type of Inspection
POS - Position of ITEM
SN - Left Blank
FREQ - Frequency of ITEM
UOM - Unit of Measure
MODELS - (From the .INI file)
REFERENCE - Reference to TLMC Item
TIMEDUE - Left Blank
LDGDUE - Left Blank
DATEDUE - Left Blank
DEPEND - Any other dependent records
The field breakouts:
RI - The Record Indicator field needs to be tracked. It is not permissible to reuse a record indicator number. Once it is used... Don’t reuse it (after initial release). The RI is a composite (six character) identifier used to track and update individual TLMC items.
An example structure is as follows:
CI0010
The C is the initial prefix followed by the inspection type. In this case it is an Inspection. The last four characters are a numeric sequence. You need to increment initially by 10. This said, the first inspection item will be labeled as above. The next in sequence would be CI0020. This sequence allows for inserts at later intervals (11 - 19).
ITEM - This would be an item description. For example: AILERON BELLCRANK
ATA - Insert the ATA code of the Item being listed. For example: 72 (Engine)
I - This is the inspection type. The following are permissible:
I - Inspection
R - Replace
O - Overhaul
L - Lubricate
W - Wash
The inspection type will make up the second character of the RI (Record Indicator).
POS - Position of the item on the airframe
SN - This will be left blank (only a template)
FREQ - The frequency of the item that correlates to the Unit of Measure (UOM) listed below. This will be a numeric number.
UOM - The Unit of Measure of the Item. The following are permissible:
YR - Years
HR - Hours
MO - Months
LDG - Landings
FLT - Flights
DY - Days
MODEL CODE - The letter designation will be from a description placed in the .INI file. A check mark is place in this indicates that the record is active. If it is blank then no data will be generated for a TLMC in either the create or the processor mode.
REFERENCE - This will be a condensed version of the physical reference of the item. This should list the Manual and page number.
DEPEND - This is a dependency item. For instance, if an item is based on a TIMEDUE and a DATEDUE schedule then the TIMEDUE depend column would list the record indicator for the DATEDUE requirement. The opposite also holds true. The DATEDUE item would list the record indicator for the TIMEDUE. With this in place, whenever a TLMC item is updated the other record listed in the DEPEND column will be processed.
