ROMX-TLMC Manager: User Guide

Start Page

ROMX is a simple and free TLMC (Time Limit Maintenance Check) maintenance manager for aircraft--specifically civilian aircraft used in the service of the military. As such it can be used to manage your private aircraft easily by creating a master TLMC, or letting us create one for you. It is a derivative product based on BDM that has been used continually for the last 20 years in the United States Armed Forces throughout the world. It has managed hundreds of Beechcraft C-12 (Super King Air 200/300), U-21 (King Air 90), and Bombardier C-21 (Learjet 35A) aircraft and a few others.

Legacy ROMX is a transitional product. It has an antiquated user interface deeply in need of modernization but is compatible on all versions of Windows from XP through Windows 8 as well as Windows Server 2003/2008. A new version of ROMX is being developed with a modern user interface that will maintain compatibility with this legacy version. The new version will be completely compatible with this version but will be a charge-for product with a road map for deeper integration with commercial and private aircraft as well as more comprehensive support for site (FBO) operations.

This program has been designed with a couple steadfast principals:

1.Give the user as much information as possible to steer him/her into making the correct choice, and

2.The [ESC] key will get you out of 99.99 percent of any situation your into.

In the first principal almost every window that appears will have help available at the bottom of that window. As you move your arrow keys from topic to topic--item to item--the bottom of the screen will tell you what is going on. When there is no help--context sensitive help--at the bottom of the window press the [F1] key to view the options available wherever you are.

The second principal is this: if you are ever stuck all you need to do is press the [ESC] key to abort whatever it is that you were doing. Sometimes the program might ask you if your sure that you want to back out, other times it will beep at you--but the [ESC] will almost always back you out of what you are working on.

This help guide is organized by menu item within the program. Context help is available within ROMX that will take you to the appropriate section of this help file. In most cases you can select the F1 help key and a pop-up box will be presented allowing you to select the appropriate help topic.
