QUIT

An interesting topic that nobody usually reads. You may wonder why this item requires explanation! one simple fact: IF YOU DO NOT EXIT THIS PROGRAM PROPERLY, YOU STAND THE CHANCE OF LOSING ANY MODIFICATION YOU MAY HAVE MADE TO THE CONFIGURATION FILE OR, MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE ACTUAL AIRCRAFT DATA. To make this program simple I did not require that the user know how to save files (most of the time). I wrote the code so the program takes care of most saving. A typical computer holds certain information in buffers and does not write them to disk unless specifically told. When BDM exits properly, by selecting QUIT or [ESC]aping out of the program it writes these unflushed buffers to disk. When a person turns off the computer while the application is running the chance that those buffers are still holding information--to be written to disk--is quite high. This is how we can lose data. ALWAYS EXIT THE PROGRAM BEFORE TURNING OFF THE COMPUTER.
