Validate Line Item

This selection [F6] is almost like [F5] except that whatever PN the highlight bar resides on is the part number to check. Again, the part number will either be validated or not. When you can not validate the item you will be prompted with some help at the bottom of the dialog box.

Should the part number not match you have a couple of options. To start a validation at this point requires that your press the [ENTER] key. You are prompted to insert the correct part number. This pre-check is provided in case you can see a gross obvious error. Usually I won’t see it so press [ENTER] again. This prompts the program to let you find the part on the master table via the [F10] key. Press it and you will taken to a window in the R/H upper corner. This list is a short list of the 40 part numbers closest to the number that you were originally looking for. If you can identify the part number select it and press [ENTER] for the highlighted record to be inserted. Press [ENTER] again and the program will prompt you for replacement into your table.
