Charge Out Parts

Send comments on this topic.

This is one of the easier screen to work with. Highlight the part you want to charge out and press [ALT-C]. Enter the aircraft serial number and the amount used. There are a couple noteworthy items.

1.If the part is being charged against another aircraft (a transient) then you will be prompted to enter that aircraft’s base number.

2.You cannot charge out more than you have showing in stock

3.There must be at least 1 in stock before the screen will come up

4.If there is a serial number (-R) associated with the part it will be available for editing.

5.You must use the appropriate work order number. A default work (BDM.INI file) order will be defaulted. If this is not the correct one put in the correct one. If you are unsure of the work order number then call Madison Operations and talk to program management.

6.The type field will be locked. It is picked up from the inventory type field in the table.

7.If there is warranty data associated with the core part number it will be shown on the left side of the dialog box. Use this data to your advantage.

Press the enter key until all blocks have been filled out. When you have edited the last block. you will be prompted to press [F5] to commit your changes. If you don’t want to save anything you have done just press the [ESC] key.

When you charge out a part an entry is made in the journal outlining what you have done. It will look something like this (one of your assigned aircraft)

MU-C 1 EA 00-10-006 BATTERY,ELT-ARTEX BD0014 A3C *** N/A ***

MU-C              - Material Usage - Charged out

1                 - How Many

EA                - Unit of Measure

00-10-006         - Part Number

BATTERY,ELT-ARTEX - Part Description

BD0014            - Aircraft charged against

A3C               - Parts location where it came from

*** N/A ***       - Serial number if applicable

If the plane was transient the journal would show...

MU-C 880 1 EA 00-10-006 BATTERY,ELT-ARTEX BJ0023 A3C *** N/A ***

880 - This is the Base number and is the only item different

You can always look at the Material Usage History to get a reading of what you have done. The journal information is only valid as long as it doesn’t get deleted.

The receipts and issue log ALT-R will also record this data for your daily transactions.
