Inventory management is crucial to the success of the C12/C21 program. Inventory control (exact) is essential to maintain cost control, provide data for the government, and provide the big picture to your organization, L-3 Vertex. Without proper inventory control procedures mismanagement is inevitable. The procedures used to control inventory movement in BDM is what this section is about. For a “BIG” picture overview please read the C12/C21 procedures manual.

BDM was designed to track inventory IN and OUT. It will give you a historical overview when required. Basically, the procedures are as follows while viewing your main inventory data:

Inventory IN - via the [INSERT] key or

ALT-I Incoming inventory

Inventory OUT - via the [DELETE] key or

ALT-C Charge out parts

ALT-T Transfer out parts

Ordering Parts

ALT-O Ordering inventory

F11 Orders/Fax Creation

F10 Sent faxes

Daily Activity Log - Receipts and Issues

ALT-R Receipts and Issues

Every other function in the inventory options are for support. The keys listed above are necessary requirements for successful inventory control management.
